I've been meaning to do this for quite a while.  ^^;

Should I get around to it, I'm also thinking of doing fandom-specific surveys of the Naruto, D.Gray-man, Harry Potter, and maybe even Twifaillight sections; even if I have religious objections moral issues with the latter, that doesn't change the fact that it's number three on the Pit, and there will be people interested in it.  Who knows, if I have the time and energy I might advertise somewhere and take requests or something.  (Unfortunately, knowing me, this will never actually happen. Nice idea, though.)

Doom and gloom aside, pop open the champagne!  The D.Gray-cute has officially made it onto my heavy-hitters list!  It hit the 10K mark probably sometime in the last month; they grow up so fast.

(All figures based on data collected between 13:00 and 13:30 (1 and 1:30 PM) Eastern time, Tuesday the 27th of July 2010.  I did not calculate any aggregate numbers for universes like Final Fantasy or Star Trek this time because I am lazy.)

First, the main pages!  Heavy-hitters are sections with at least 10,000 stories.

Next, the first-ever Heavy Hitter assessment for the Crossover pages!  So, apparently this part of the site measures by how many different canons one fandom crosses with; heavy-hitters in this case are crossover sections with at least 1,000 intersections.  Each of these intersections has its own section of stories about two different canons.  *head hurt yet? mine does*

In conclusion:

Apart from a few massive outliers in the Books category, Anime/Manga still dominates the site with help from its trusty sidekick, Television; relatively few Books and Movies sections are large enough to make it to this list; the Comics, stage, and Misc. categories are sad.

Maximum Ride is apparently this gimmicky new book series about underage lab rats with bizarre names (like "Fang" and the female title character "Max(imum) Ride") and wings; sadly, I don't mean actual rats with wings, as that would be freaking awesome (like NIMH!), but kids running around with wings and psychic powers and whatnot.  I know these things because I've been mucking around in the D.Gray-crossovers and there's a few of these D.Gray-Ride stories in there.

Also, let us have a moment of silence to pray for the plot bunnies of the Naruto fandom, that they may grow and breed most enthusiastically, and prevent the Twilight from overtaking that number-two spot.  Go forth and multiply!

(I'll most likely come back to this later, do more analysis and whatnot.)
